Derby Top 10 - Revised

I had a chance to view some workout video of Pyro, Gayego, Colonel John, Recapturetheglory and Z Fortune and as a result have revised my Top 10. Colonel John jumps to the top of the list as the last time we've seen a Derby week work that he displayed yesterday was in 2006 with Barbaro. Additionally, I'm becoming less concerned about the synthtic-to-dirt concerns with this horse especially after Monteryy Jazz romped in the Texas Mile at Lone Star this weekend.

Cool Coal Man has been dropped from the Top 10 and I add in Denis of Cork, who made it into the field today when Behindatthebar was taken off the Derby trail. Denis of Cork put in a powerful work this morning. He flopped badly in the Illinois Derby but perhaps it was the surface and not the horse. We'll find out soon enough.

The revised Top 10:

1. Colonel John
2. Gayego
3. Big Brown
4. Pyro
5. Recapturetheglory
6. Visionaire
7. Eight Belles
8. Smooth Air
9. Z Fortune
10. Denis of Cork
