Selections for Saturday, September 27th
Updated 9/28: Better than last week, but couldn't crack 50% due to Auburn and Penn State failing to cover the spread. Come on, Joe Pa, give me one more point, will ya?!? Notre Dame is looking a lot stronger this season...I suspect I'll avoid them for a while.
I'm guessing that the UW-Stanford game was a little rough for commentator BaronVonKruger
Auburn (-6.5) vs. Tennessee (Auburn 14-12; LOSS by 4.5))
Purdue (+1) at Notre Dame (Notre Dame 38-21; LOSS by 14)
Oklahoma (-17.5) vs. TCU (Oklahoma 35-10; WIN by 7.5)
Alabama (+7) at Georgia (Alabama 41-30; WIN by 18)
Penn State (-14.5) vs. Illinois (Penn State 38-24; LOSS by .5)
Last Week: 0-5 (0%)
Overall: 7-11-2 (35% / 55% / 10%)

I like your picks of games, but am leaning the other way on a few. This is starting to be a trend. Tennessee has a strong offense and Auburn is still struggling on that side of the ball. I like Tennessee and it's going to be a battle of defense and am taking the under. ND is playing for pride at home where Purdue never wins. I like your pick of Bama against Georgia as well as Penn St. Penn State is playing strong, at home, at night, against a team they want to pay back. Greg Roberts calls it as a rout and I do too. The white out is going to work, the black out is not (well UG may win just not cover).
One game to think about:
Wisconsin at Michigan (+6). Michigan is down and wrote off, prime time for them to make a stand. Wrong team is favored!
Tennessee (+7) vs. Auburn
Tennessee/Auburn under (40)
Michigan (+6) vs. Wisconsin
UNLV (-4) vs. Nevada
Notre Dame (1) vs. Purdue (line is all over the place. Almost a pickem)
UW (-3) vs. Stanford
Alabama (+6.5) vs. Georgia
Penn State (-15.5) vs. Illinois

UW -3 over the 'Furd...wow. Not necessarily a bad pick but that one seems like it could be a wild one.
I'm generally an Illinois guy but I just don't think they are strong enough to keep up with Joe Pa.

Like last year (and my new friend Greg Roberts, KJR 8:30 Fridays if you don't know already), I believe Michigan will pull themselves together when everyone has dismissed them. Of course that was a different team and a different coach. RicRod's got the juice though, it just takes some time to get flowing.
I was on the Illinois bandwagon last year. This year, I'm on Penn St's...

What about that Michigan game?! I was watching some of the Auburn game when I saw the half-time stats from the UM game, thinking to myself, OK Michigan does suck. Coach got the juice together in the 2nd half!
I thought UNLV had something but was wrong...
Paterno... Good game in any case. Can't hate a 81 yr old football coach.
Now UW. That was a sad day on too many levels. I'm sure the boosters are handing Brutus the knife for Tyrone's next visit to the senate floor. I don't think I'm going to pay attention to another UW game until the apple cup.
I loved the Auburn game. Interesting note about Auburn running the spread. Previous to this game they had only 10 plays with the QB under center with 5 being spikes/kneels. Against Tennessee they were under center at least 25+% of the plays. Looks like even Tony Franklin is realizing they are not staffed up for the spread. Thanks to EA sports, I could have told them that weeks ago! Auburn's offense might get stronger in the upcoming weeks.

'Bama just rolled Georgia in that first half; they've got to be considered serious title contenders after that. Of course, as tough as the SEC is they could still drop a couple before the end of the season.

Neither UW nor WSU has any semblence of a defense.
