BloodHorse.com: New Surface for Santa Anita Later This Year
Santa Anita installed Cushion Track...and that failed. They installed Tapeta...and that failed. Now it appears they will install a new surface which may be dirt...or synthetic...or who knows what. Of course, there is still the issue of the mandate from the CHRB that all tracks in the state have a synthetic surface in order to run a meet.
