Merry Christmas!
In honor of this Christmas, I present my Top 5 All-Time Favorite Christmas songs. I also wish you all a happy and safe holiday season.
Honorable Mention: Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas - Robert Goulet; Mele Kalikimaka - Bing Crosby and The Andrews Sisters; Jingle Bell Rock - Bobby Helms and the Anita Kerr Singers; Sleigh Ride - Johnny Mathis with Percy Faith and his orchestra; Rocking Around the Christmas Tree - Brenda Lee.
5. It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year - Andy Williams
I always start off my holiday music listening with this classic from Mr. Christmas. He ain't named "Mr. Christmas" for nothing.
4. White Christmas - Bing Crosby
A Christmas without Bing is like a margarita without tequila; it's possible, but what's the point?
3. The Christmas Song - Nat King Cole
I was raised listening to Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Elvis, The Beatles, Louis Armstrong, and Nat King Cole. I couldn't decide which version of The Christmas Song I liked better - the Tony Bennett version or Nat's. I went with Nat in a photo finish.
2. Holly Jolly Christmas - Burl Ives
Driving to grandma's house while listening to Burl Ives - that's about as Christmas as you can get.
1. Blue Christmas - Elvis Presley
The King is always #1. Always.
