• Zenyatta ran the final furlong in 11.99 seconds, according to the DRF Formulator charts.  Very impressive considering Smith never went to the stick.
• Despite her loss, Rachel Alexandra’s race will probably come up fairly fast; the top two were well clear of the rest of that field, what there was of it.  (UPDATED: And this race did come up pretty fast, as least in speed figure terms.  According to the DRF, Zardana earned a 101 Beyer for her 3/4 length win over Rachel Alexandra.)
• I’m guessing that the odds of a Rachel / Zenyatta match-up in Arkansas are probably now less than 50/50 but who knows what will happen going forward.
