Pletcher: Filly Devil May Care a Derby possibility
I guess Todd feels like he needs to train at least 1/3 of the Derby field this year.
The entry of Devil May Care into the Derby would be bad news for Homeboykris, Jackson Bend, and any of the other colts that are hanging right around the 20-spot in graded earnings.

Are You Cussin' Kiddin' Me?
What, five or six ain’t enough? How do you feel about the super trainers? I don’t dismiss them, but Pletcher and Asmussen seem more like stockbrokers or venture capitalists to me, than horsemen. Give me Sadler, Mandella, Zito….
Now is the time boys to make a big noise.
No matter what the people say,
For there is naught to fear, the gang's all here,
So hail West Virginia, hail.
I'm 50/50 on them...
On the one hand, if you’re good and owners want you to train their horses, so be it. On the other hand, it’s brutal to (at some tracks) have to deal with a Pletcher or Asmussen horse in every single race…sometimes multiple horses. Plus, their stables are so big that it’s tough to really get a read on true intent, at least it is for me.
