PrintNine horses will enter the starting gate in the $750,000 Grade 1 Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland on Saturday, led by Odysseus, winner of the Tampa Bay Derby. Odysseus desperately needs to pick up valuable graded earnings as he currently sits outside the Top 20.
The entire Blue Grass field is pretty much in a "must win" situation with the possible exception of Interactif, who sits around 18th in graded earnings, depending on which list you are looking at.
The $1 million Grade 1 Arkansas Derby will also feature a field of nine, led by 9/5 morning line favorite, Super Saver. The Todd Pletcher trainee currently has $163,832 in earnings and probably just needs to finish in the top two to assure his spot in Louisville. D. Wayne Lukas' Dublin is probably in without any more cash but it'd be nice to see this horse run a good, trouble-free trip.
