Entries for Grade 2 Dwyer Stakes

Turf Melody was mentioned as a possible Preakness starter at Pimlico but will take a shot in the Dwyer instead.  Drosselmeyer, a contender for the Kenturkcy Derby earlier this spring, resurfaces in a possible tune-up for a try in the Belmont Stakes four weeks later.

The Grade 3 Lone Star Derby is also scheduled to run this Saturday but the field for that race came up about as soft as could be.  Not sure why you would try and run a graded stakes race for three year olds on the Saturday between the Derby and the Preakness and on the same day as the Dwyer.  This race should be scheduled like the Iowa Derby, Indiana Derby, etc, after the Triple Crown season when you can hope to draw a few of the second and third tier three year olds to your track.
