Noble's Promise to try Group 1 race at Royal Ascot
The connections of Noble's Promise have decided to skip the Preakness and instead point their colt towards the Group 1 St. James Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot in June. The St. James Palace is a one mile race on turf, which would at first glance appear to be a good fit for Noble's Promise in terms of distance and surface.
There seems to be a little bit of a change in attitude on the part of American trainers towards attempting to to run in Europe's prestigious race meetings. Wesley Ward began the shift with his success at Royal Ascot last year, while 2010 has seen a number of American trainers indicate a desire to take a similar shot.

An Interesting Decision...
…and one that somehow makes me think he will merit serious consideration.
Now is the time boys to make a big noise.
No matter what the people say,
For there is naught to fear, the gang's all here,
So hail West Virginia, hail.
I'm curious as to how he matches up...
he’ll be facing some top class milers but it could be a nice gauge as to his talent level.
