What a disaster

Whomever was responsible for screwing up the drainage and everything else when the dirt switch was make has got to be on the hook for some serious costs.

Yeah

Whatever they used for the base must’ve been completely different from Hollywood Park. The two race tracks aren’t THAT far from each other – but HP never seems to to have track issues like SA does despite also using a synthetic surface.

Excellent point...

A lot of people have used the Santa Anita experience to claim that synthetic tracks are screwed up but the fact is that no other synthetic track has had problems like SA. Hollywood, GG, Del Mar, Keeneland, Presque Isle, Woodbine, Arlington, Turfway…none of them have had drainage problems that SA has dealt with.

Santa Anita better be getting some money back for this fiasco.
