UPDATE:
-Paddy O'Prado stamped himself (in my opinion) as the best turf horse in America, regardless of age. Trainer Dale Romans has got to be salivating at the thought of running him in the Breeders' Cup Turf.
-Eclair de Lune (GER) looked very, very nice in winning the Beverly D. This is a filly that I was intrigued with in the Modesty Handicap last month after shipping out to Illinois from California for her first third North American start.
Great closing kick by Blind Luck to win the Alabama at Saratoga. Devil May Care didn't look like she wanted to be there once they hit mid-stretch.
-Dubussy, the other John Gosden horse, puts in a great late run to take the Grade 1 Arlington Million over Gio Ponti and Tazeez.
The three European horses in the Million went off at 11/1, 6/1, and 10/1 odds; one of the best value plays in North American tracks are mid-level European horses in Grade 1 races.
Horse racing fans can't get much better than this weekend if they are looking to watch top class racing on the grass. Arlington Park hosts their International Festival of Racing featuring four graded stakes: Stars and Stripes, Secretariat, Bevery D., and the Arlington Million. Additionally, eleven to the twelve races at Arlington Park today will be on the turf.
Today's scratches and changes can be found at the links below:
Arlington Park
The rail horse in the Million, Marsh Side, did indeed scratch from the race.
Inner Turf: Yielding
Million Turf: Good
Monmouth (Turf rail is at 12ft.)
Saratoga (Rail is at 18ft. on both the inner and Mellon turf courses today.)

How Is This For Bad Beats...?
….played .50 trifectas yesterday in Arlington races 7-10. Two out of three with key horse finishing fourth in each and every race. Argh….
Now is the time boys to make a big noise.
No matter what the people say,
For there is naught to fear, the gang's all here,
So hail West Virginia, hail.
Man, that is tough.
The racing gods are cruel.

good call on Noosa Beach
how’d you do on Mile Day? pretty much all favorites hitting the top spot it seemed.
Yeah, it was a bit chalky.
Didn’t do too bad but I was hoping that Gallant Son would have taken more money and kept Noosa Beach at 3/1 or 7/2. Had a good win bet on Noosa but missed on the late Pick 4 when my first leg single went down.
How did your day turn out?

cashed a couple tickets early on
hit the tri in the first race but it was the 3 favorites so didn’t pay much.
got kinda screwed in the 4th i think it was where the 2 horse took second but then there was an inquiry and they swapped the 2 and 7. had a WPS bet on the 2 horse in that one and it got knoced to just show money. but I don’t bet big enough for it to make a huge difference.
overall lost 100 bucks or so, fun day though. Mile Day is the best at EmD for sure, just so much more money in the prize pools than any other day.
it’s a little crazy how much horses from california come up and struggle in the Mile, i think i heard that it’s 6 locals in a row that have won? something like that anyway
Yeah, locals have reigned supreme lately.
The switch from dirt to synthetic in California has probably played a bit of a factor as I think some of the trainers have more of a question mark as to whether their horses will handle Emerald’s surface. Plus, Emerald is just a quirky surface all on its own – some horses just don’t take to it.
