Yeah,
for as much as he dislikes the surface he still saddles his share of winners.

Including the BIG race
Two years running.
Perhaps Baffert should make an effort to get Smith on board of RK next time.
Yeah, isn't that only the 2nd time he's ridden RK (or something like that)?
Smith used to drive me crazy about ten years ago but his is now money in the big races

Gotcha
If I was Baffert I’d want Smith on that horse from now till the Breeders’ Cup. Of course, Smith might have another obligation in the Classic.

Yeah
Not like he’s gonna drop Zenyatta for Richard’s Kid, but Baffert should definitely try and get Smith on for RK’s last prep – whichever race that ends up being. I guess somewhere at Oak Tree’s meet, tho I haven’t really looked at the schedule.
Goodwood?
Isn’t that the big older horse race at Oak Tree? I can’t remember. That would seem like the logical spot for him.

Only if it's early in the meeting tho
Oak Tree normally starts around September 30th give or take a few days. I don’t recall if race is early in the meeting…if it’s after the 1st weekend you would imagine it might make Baffert hesitant about pointing there because there wouldn’t be as much time to get ready for the BCC.
Good point.
I suppose it will all come down to the scheduling.
I’m guessing if he doesn’t run at Oak Tree he’ll take him back east somewhere for a final prep.
