Sad

Wonder what he’ll point to next.

I was checking out the stakes calendar and wondering the same thing...

Since it seems like Baffert wants to keep him on dirt until the Classic, he could go to the Woodward, which is the week after the Travers, if he’s ready by then and wants to try older for the first time. Or they could wait until late Sept. and go to the Super Derby at La Downs…although, if they go that route it would be tough to get another prep in before the Classic.

Yeah, This News Was A Letdown.....

Is it just me, or have the last couple of years in the three-year old division really been disappointing because of injuries and sickness?

Now is the time boys to make a big noise.

Yeah, pretty much

Kinda sad, because that’s the division that usually brings in the most new fans. I know I started following racing because of the Triple Crown chase when I was a kid (Easy Goer vs Sunday Silence) and then followed them to the Breeder’s Cup.

And for a few years after I wouldn’t say I watched or read anything on racing besides the TC and BC. Those are the places you grow new fans.

Ditto on Easygoer and Sunday Silence....!

…that was the year I started following racing as well. I was a freshman at Transylvania University. Ah, youth….

Me three..

The 89 Triple Crown year, and the BC Classic “Race of the Decade”, was what got me hooked on this sport.. I still have the Classic on an old VHS tape somewhere.

Doesn't The Fact That That Rivalry....

brought all three of us into racing scream that the sport needs a legit rivlary that brings great horses together at least four times?

Yeah

I would think so. We’ve had a few rivalires of sorts since, but nothing like that.
