The Keeneland September auction kicked off yesterday with an A.P. Indy colt topping the first session at $4.2 million.

Above is a video from the 2005 Keeneland yearling sale featuring a one-year-old filly by Street Cry (IRE) out of the mare Vertigineux...otherwise known as Zenyatta.

That was my take, too.

You don’t see too many yearling fillies that look like that. Seems like a steal at $60k, huh?

Yeah

I’m really not sure how she didn’t go higher honestly. Watching the replay coverage of leading up to her FIRST race the TVG analysts thought she might have been a star in the making – so it’s not like she came out of nowhere like some great ones do.
