2010 Woodbine Mile: Entries, Post Positions and Odds

ARCADIA, CA - OCTOBER 24: Jockey Garrett Gomez rides Ventura en route to finishing first in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint during the Breeders' Cup World Championships at Santa Anita Park October 24, 2008 in Arcadia, California. This Sunday Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto will run the Grade 1 Woodbine Mile, a key prep race for the Breeders' Cup Mile.  The past several years this race has produced such winners as Ventura (who won in a track record time of 1:32.04 in 2009), Leroidesanimaux (2005), Shakespeare (2007), and Soaring Free (2004).

The draw for this year's Grade 1 Woodbine Mile took place at Woodbine this morning with thirteen horses gaining entry into the $1 million race.  The Usual Q.T. ships in from California and returns to the grass after a disappointing try in the Pacific Classic on August 28th, along with three other California horses: Victor's Cry, Crowded House (GB) (2nd in the Pacific Classic), and Riviera Cocktail.

Entries, post positions and morning line odds are below the jump.

Would like to go with Usual Q.T.

But I’m not sure I’m THAT confident in him at those sorts of odds. At 5-1 I’d definitely play him.

I like him, as well.

He should be much better returning to grass after the Poly race at Del Mar.

Court Vision is coming off a decent layoff so I think he’s vulnerable at 7/2.

Famous Name has won a couple of Group 3 races over in Ireland this year so he could be dangerous in this spot, and a a decent price.

Should be a great betting race with such a big field.

Funny you mention Famous Name

I was thinking that might be a good play as well.

He was the one that caught my eye first

Perhaps a Q.T. – Famous Name EX if the price is right…or maybe a tri. Seems to be a lot of different ways to attack this race.
