So the European shippers were only 1 for 3 in Sunday's three big turf stakes at Woodbine, and not an especially impressive 1 for 3 at that. But if you, like me, thought that the Breeders' Cup grass races this year would be easy pickings for overseas invaders after the mediocre likes of Chinchon and Debussy came over and won two of our biggest turf races of the summer, the United Nations and Arlington Million, then nothing that happened at Woodbine Sunday should have made you think differently.

Not a fantastic time by Z

But I can’t say I’m terriblly concerned either. That’s a good time for Lookin’ at Lucky though….he might be due for a huge effort.

Yeah, I don't think Zenyatta is much of a worker in the mornings.

I looked back on her last 10 published works and she rarely burns it up.

I agree on Lucky – if Baffert has him right he could be set up for a couple of big performances to close out the year.

Someone in the comments

Was raving about how it was a much better workout than it looked likeon paper. I didn’t have time to read it all. Lucky is looking really good. I’m hoping he has some what of a price come the BC Classic.

I wonder if he'll be available at something like 5/1? Maybe a bit higher?

You gotta think Zenyatta, Blame and QR will take a good chunk of money as Zenyatta was a little above 5/2 last year and I can’t see her going off at anything higher than that this year. 2nd and 3rd choices last year were 7/2 and 6/1, so it’s conceivable that Lucky is going to be available at a good number come BC day, even if he were to be 3rd or 4th choice.

In my opinion

Zenyatta’s name and popularity alone will make her between even money and 2 to 1. I have to agree about Blame and Quality Road too. I would love to see Lucky at 5 to 1. I would definitely be making a sizeable bet on him at those odds.

I agree...I doubt she goes of at anything higher than 2/1

Probably more like 8/5 or less.

5/1 on Lucky would be pretty good value for a horse of his talents. Not bad at all.

See I disagree

Going off of many folks back East that post on various blogs/messageboards, I’m still not sure if many of them respect Z. I think she very well might go off at 2-1 or more.

You may be right.

I guess I figure the West Coast money will be big on her.
