Risen Star Result: Mucho Macho Man holds off Santiva

Mucho Macho Man used a long stretch drive to hold off Santiva in deep stretch to win the Grade 2 Risen Star Stakes at the Fair Grounds on Saturday afternoon.  Machen, bet down from a morning line of 6/1 to 6/5 at post time, placed a disappointing fourth.

The Risen Star was a relatively paceless affair, with fractions on the middling to slow side.

Santiva, Rogue Romance and Machen rounded out the top four spots.

The preliminary Beyer figure is out for the Risen Star; Mucho Macho Man earned a 94 for his winning effort.  Other stakes on the card produced the following figures:
