Strub Result: Twirling Candy cruises to victory

Twirling Candy, the stylish son of uber-sire Candy Ride (ARG), completely crushed the field in the Grade 2 Strub Stakes at Santa Anita this after noon. After settling into a good position just off hind quarter of early leader Indian Firewater, Twirling Candy was content to stalk a brisk pace down the backside before easily passing the tiring leader as they rounded the final turn.  Tweebster attempted to make a move on the outside but once Joel Rosario threw a couple of crosses the race was effectively over; Twirling Candy finished under wraps inside the final 1/16th.

Twirling Candy went off at odds of 1/2 and paid $3.00, $2.40 and $2.10.

Tweebster got up for the place spot while Make Music For Me rounded out the trifecta.
