Weekend Stakes Action: Tampa Bay Derby and San Felipe Edition
Saturday's stakes schedule features some pretty big names in the racing landscape: Uncle Mo, Switch, St. Trinians (GB), Jaycito, Brethren, and Comma to the Top, just to name a few. The Gulfstream Park Handicap features an very evenly matched filed of older stakes horses, including Jackson Bend, Tackleberry, Tizway, Duke of Mischief, Soar Emprie, and Rule. It's a field of eight, but a very, very solid eight.
I'll be spending most of my Saturday sitting on a plane or at LAX on a layover, so I'll once again have to rely on the magic of the internet in an attempt to follow any of the big stakes races of the day.

I am terrible at Tampa Bay
Not that anyone had that exacta… I like Jaycito in the San Felipe… Wow, what do you make of Brethren now? Is it a throw away because of the questionable ride?

Tampa has kicked out some huge prices this year.
Just insane.
I don’t know about Brethren now. I didn’t like the way he ran at all. Could be the track or the ride, but if he’s a serious Derby horse it’s tough to lose to a 40/1 and 80/1 shot.

Brethren
I haven’t seen race yet but I’ll watch it tonight or tomorrow.
Fortunately, I hit a couple exacta but not that big one! WOW. I need to watch that race too on replay.
Premier Pegasus
Tony. 100% agreed. Visually and I think from the clockers standpoint that was the most impressive prep so far.
Premier Pegasus really stepped up
Nice looking win on a track that hasn’t played great for coming off the pace…although you should be able to close into 1:08+ for six! Those were some insane fractions.
The final round of preps look like they all could be great betting races.
