Sad news in the world of horse racing as Jess Jackson, owner of Curlin and Rachel Alexandra, passed away due to complications from cancer. He was 81.

That is too bad
I didn’t know much about him, but I loved how he raced his horses. Giving Rachel shots at the boys. Running Curlin on Poly, synthetic despite knowing it probably wouldn’t work out well. Running Curlin at all after he won the Breeder’s Cup Classic. He let his horses become stars and let the fans enjoy watching them! Seemed like he really wanted to have a Curlin/Big Brown race as well as a Rachel/Zenyatta. Shame neither worked out.
