Dialed In
Just spent the last few minutes reviewing the Derby prep races and by far the most impressive horse has been Dialed In with his bursts of speed in the stretch run to win his maiden race, the Holy Bull and the Florida. I hate that if Uncle Mo doesn't go Dialed In will likely go off at something relatively expensive like 5-1, but if you have seen any other horse during this Prep season that has looked as or equally impressive please let me know. Otherwise, I'm putting Dialed In at the top of every bet I make one week from Saturday. Though I am concerned that his patented 'fall far behind and then come storming back' move may not work so well in a field fo 20, he clearly has the closing speed to contend and seems to be OK with having dirt kicked in his face which is a huge factor for many of these 3 year olds.

A couple of things I love about Dialed In
1) Seems to have a good turn of foot coming around the turn that helps him get into excellent position coming into the stretch. He starts very slow but is able to make up ground well down the backstretch.
2) He’s consistent – something that I think counts for a lot when we see so much inconsistency from other colts.
I also like Leparoux in the irons given his patience – hopefully he can navigate the traffic effectively with this colt.
I’m curious as to what the crowd is going to do with Uncle Mo: will they get back on board to stay away?

My bad...
Btalbert wrote a comment I was trying to respond to on my cell and I ended up deleting it by mistake. Sorry, man, I wasn’t trying to delete it.
What I was going to write was that I agreed with Btalbert’s comment that a Mo / Dialed in exact, even though it’s chalk, can still pay decently, especially if you have it for 10 or 20 straight up.

Dialed In much over rated
One of my Twinspires stable horses " Equesterio " beat up Dailed in bad . Of course Dialed’s trainer will tell you it was simply a wrok out when Equesterio won but I was there and Dialed In tried all he could and came up empty .

I wouldn't say he was empty that day against Equesterio...
he ran the final eighth in 12.35, which was the best of any in that short field. And he didn’t have much pace to run at in a race against older horses. I really don’t think it was that bad of a race, especially when you consider a lot of the so-so performances of pretty much every contender this spring.
I think it’s debatable that he’s overrated – we’re talking about a possible Derby favorite that might be 5/1 at post time – that’s not a ton of support. If he get’s hammered to 5/2, sure, those odds are probably too small. But there’s not a lot of people talking Dialed In as a superhorse, merely one of the more consistent and better performers in an pretty inconsistent 3yo crop.
