PETER PAN RESULT: Alternation Nips Adios Charlie At The Wire

Alternation used every inch of the Belmont Park stretch drive in order to wear down Adios Charlie and win the Grade 2 Peter Pan Stakes by a nose at the wire. Adios Charlie ran a strong race to finish 2nd, a result that flatters the Preakness-bound Astrology, a colt that finished second to Adios Charlie in the G2-Jerome last time out.  Additionally, the Arkansas Derby continues to look like the top prep this spring with 2nd place Nehro finishing 2nd in the Derby, and Alternation coming back to win the Peter Pan.

Alternation is likely a strong candidate to run in the Belmont Stakes on June 11th. Adios Charlie probably won't attempt a race that long but could be a nice colt this summer in middle distance races.

Alternation: :$9.40, $4.40, $3.20
Adios Charlie: :$4.40, $3.20
Prime Cut: $5.00
