Big Day for Roman Ruler
It probably seems like I keep beating the same drum over and over here, but I've just gotten lucky that the topics I've brought up here immediately resurface in the news within a few days.
Ruler on Ice came out on top of an interesting Belmont on Saturday. My first thought was, "Nice, FuPeg's now sired a sire of a Classic winner." Well, my first thought actually was, "Wow, I hope that's a Roman Ruler colt." Definitely a great win for the valuation of FuPeg's bloodline, et al.
With Rule and Ruler on Ice out there putting up Graded Stakes winnings, it looks like Roman Ruler's going to make a big splash on the scene this year. With just three crops of racing age out there right now, that's impressive. Hopefully this is a sign of great things to come from Roman Ruler's progeny for years to come.
Both Rule and Ruler on Ice are putting up successful campaigns at a 8f+in their stakes races. Roman Ruler is 22nd on the earnings list (he'll slide further as stallions with 5-6 crops of racing age out there put up more earnings) so it is already a very successful year for him. I'm hoping for the best so he can continue to infuse a bit of endurance into his progeny. He's a young stallion with plenty of mares in front of him. Hopefully he can make his mark.

Yep, FuPeg keeps rolling on.
I had a future bet on Roman Ruler to win the Derby after his two-year-old season. Always thought he was a nice colt.
