HASKELL STAKES 2011: Entries, Post Positions and Odds
Preakness winner Shackleford and Belmont winner Ruler On Ice will square off at Monmouth Park on Sunday in the Grade 1 Haskell Invitational (post time 5:43) against a field of six other three-year-old colts. Among the Haskell challengers are Illinois Derby winner Joe Vann, 3rd place Preakness finishers Astrology, and Louisiana Derby winner Pants On Fire.
If either Shackleford or Ruler On Ice wins the Haskell, they will be clearly entrenched as the top horse in the three-year-old division.

Man
It really seems like forever since these 3yos have been in my radar. I can’t wait for things to really gear up for BC

You wonder which horses have matured the last couple of months.
I see Pants On Fire is getting a jock change from Rosie to Elvis.

Absolutely
That’s a really open race. I haven’t figured out who I like the most in that one.

I like Zagora a bit in the Diana
She didn’t get much help upfront in the New York; perhaps if Romacaca applies some pressure to Giants Play things will set-up better for her this time.

Morning line
A relatively straight forward ML for the Haskell.
Coil gets 2nd choice status from the oddsmaker behind Shack. I would have liked to have seen him run at Santa Anita this winter/spring to have a little more to go on in terms of ability on the dirt.
