Filly Havre de Grace stalked the early speed, powered ahead of pacesetter Rule at the top of the stretch, and held off Flat Out in the final furlongs to win the Grade 1 Woodward Stakes at Saratoga. Havre de Grace is only the second filly to win the Woodward, joining Rachel Alexandra.

I think 9 furlongs is probably her best distance, as opposed to 10, but there really aren’t any true 10f horses out there right now. If she goes to the Classic, she’s got as good a shot, if not better, as the rest.
