Awesome Feather Destroys Foes In The Sunshine Millions Distaff
If you were to draw up the textbook definition of the perfect stalking trip, you would base it on Awesome Feather's trip in the Sunshine Million Distaff. Sitting just off a solid pace set by 8/5 second choice Tiz the Argument, Awesome Feather put away the front-runner at the top of the far turn, was asked for more run when Delightful Mary came from the back to make a run, and easily put away her rivals over the final furlongs.
Tiz the Argument, a nice looking filly that came into the Sunshine Millions Distaff on a three race winning streak, was made to look like a cheap claimer after Awesome Feather stalked her into submission. Delightful Mary, a filly that finished 3rd to Awesome Feather in the 2010 Breeders' Cup Juvenile, made a spirited run to get within striking range at the top of the lane but had no shot of seriously threatening the winner inside the quarter pole.
Awesome Feather, the 2010 champion juvenile filly, is now a perfect nine-for-nine in her career and will be a force to be reckoned with in the Distaff division this year. Awesome Feather, a four-year-old daughter of Awesome of Course out of a Gone West mare (Precious Feather), is trained by Chad Brown and ridden by Jeffrey Sanchez. She is owned by Stronach Stables.

Great day
What a great day of racing at Gulfstream, featuring several strong performances.
Awesome Feather, been pulling for her since BC day, what an impressive Filly that always puts her run in in the stretch.
Little Mike put up strong fractions and held on in impressive fashion. Of course he was able to relax on the lead.
Where does Teaks North go from here? Should they try an allowance race to try and get him back on track?
Is there anyway to not go deep in sprint races on multi race tickets? Sigh.
She's a nice looking filly that seems to be still improving.
Teak’s North needs something because his last few races have been abysmal. He was better yesterday but you wonder if he’s lost a bit of that competitive edge? A drop into an allowance race might help get his confidence back up.
I was surprised how poor Pomeroy’s Pistol ran in the Sprint. A really flat performance by an otherwise pretty good sprinter.

It's a shame she's had injury issues
Because she’s as impressive as any runner I’ve seen the past few years. If I’m Stronach I’m pointing her at the BC Classic and hope she stays sound.
On a similar note, it’s great that the best horses of the past few years have all been fillies and mares. Zenyatta, Rachel, HdG, Awesome Feather, heck, even Royal Delta and Blind Luck are all of equal class (at a minimum) of any of their male peers.

I would point towards the Classic, as well.
it’s not like the older males are a bunch of world beaters.
How far do you think Awesome Feather wants to go? She looked pretty good at 9 furlongs yesterday and her high cruising speed could really run a lot of horses into the ground, even at 10 panels.

I think she's a freak of nature
Her dam ran well at 6f. Her best sibling was at his best at 5f. Her other siblings ran/run at right around a mile.
I honestly think she could run 10f no problem. She’s just that good.
While not in his stratosphere, she vaguely reminds me of your assessment of Frankel: high cruising speed with a big gas tank.

Yeah, I love that high cruising speed.
She can run hard early but she doesn’t pull and fight it, she just settles into a great rhythm,
