I'll Have Another nosed out heavy favorite Creative Cause at the end of a thrilling stretch duel to win the 2012 Grade 1 Santa Anita Derby. by virtue of his victory, I'll Have Another has earned a spot in the starting gate for the 2012 Kentucky Derby. Longshot Blueskiesnrainbows, the early pacesetter, ran a huge race to finish third. Recent maiden winner Paynter completed the superfecta.
Creative Cause already had a place in the Derby in hand due to his graded stakes earnings.
I'll Have Another is a three-year-old son of Flower Alley out of an Arch mare (Arch's Gal), owned by Reddam Racing, trained by Doug O'Neil, and ridden by Mario Gutierrez.
