Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner Hansen drew post position #9 for Saturday night's Grade 2 West Virginia Derby at Mountaineer. The West Virginia Derby is run at nine furlongs with a purse of $750,000. Post time for the race is 5:45pm Eastern time.
Hansen, and his blue tail, will face a field of nine rivals, including:
- Hero of Order, winner of the G2-Louisiana Derby at odds of 109/1, and second to Hansen in the G2-Iowa Derby last time out.
- Macho Macho: Third in the G3-Matt Winn behind Neck 'n Neck and Stealcase.
- La Bernardin: A nice looking Darley colt by Bernardini that won the G3-Pegasus at Monmouth on June 17th.
