A mad dash to the wire saw long shot Ive Struck a Nerve beat Code West in a photo finish to win a wild renewal of the Grade 2 Risen Star Stakes at the Fair Grounds. Palace Malice finished third while Lecomte winner Oxbow held on for fourth.

Ive Struck a Nerve went to post at odds of 135/1 leading to astronomical payouts across the board.

Ive Struck a Nerve is a three-year-old colt by Yankee Gentleman out of a Cryptoclearance mare (Ranaway), trained by Keith Desormeaux and ridden by James Graham. His victory in the Risen Star was just the second win of his career.
