Well, it's near time for the ultimate crapshoot - The Kentucky Derby Futures Pool 1. I'm sure for serious handicappers this is like playing a game of pin the tail on the donkey, but for a casual daydreamer like myself there is a level of excitement holding a $2 exacta box with long odds.

I like Chad Brown's horse, Normandy Invasion. He looks like he wants to go the distance. Actually, he reminds me a bit of Nehro and may do better in the later Triple Crown races, but I sure like his spirit.

In an earlier post, pgunpgun57 said he'd be keeping an eye on Revolutionary for the Derby and that horse is getting a lot of chatter as a possible at long odds. I guess I'm looking for a fringe horse; one the talking heads haven't played up. Proud Strike and Tiz the Truth might fit that mold. Any thoughts on a longshot worth watching?
