2013 Breeders' Cup Marathon Results: London Bridge stays the trip

Richard Mackson-USA TODAY Sports

London Bridge wins from off-the-pace in the Breeders' Cup Marathon.

If there was one way to describe this year's Breeders' Cup Marathon it's probably "wide open"; less than ten minutes to post and the entire field sported odds between 5/1 and 13/1. And, guess what, that's kind of what we got as London Bridge, sent to post at 9/1, made a strong move down the middle of the track to pass Blueskiesandrainbows and Wordly in deep stretch to win the Marathon.

London Bridge is a three-year-old colt by Arc out of a Indian Ridge (IRE) mare (Kindness (GB), trained by Jo Hughes and ridden by Hall o Fame jockey Mike Smith.
