A look at the entries, post positions and best odds for the 2012 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp Racecourse in Paris on Sunday, October 7th.
While the defections of Danedream (GER), Snow Fairy (IRE) and Nathaniel (IRE) certainly cast a bit of a shadow over the 2012 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, the field for this year's race is still very big and very competitive. 2,000 Guineas and Epsom Derby winner Camelot (GB) leads a field of 18 in the 91st running of the Arc on Sunday. He's closely followed in the UK betting markets by 2011 Japanese Triple Crown winner Orfevre (JPN). Three-time Arc winning jockey Frankie Dettori will climb into the irons on Camelot for the first time on Sunday. Camelot's prior rider, Joseph O'Brien, will take the mount on 2011 Breeders' Cup Turf winner St. Nicholas Abbey (IRE).
Two three-year-old fillies (17-Yellow And Green and 18-Great Heavens) will be part of the 18 horse field, a fact to take note of given the large weight allowance that three-year-olds (especially fillies) receive in the Arc. The weight allowance for three-year-olds can be anywhere from four to 11 pounds less than the older horses in the field.

Camelot and Masterstroke will also receive weight breaks, while Orfevre and St. Nicholas Abbey will carry the maximum amount.
