This legislation has picked up a bit of attention the past week or so and would essentially accomplish two things:

1. Allow for exchange betting (similar to Betfair), and
2. Increase the pari-mutuel tax on exotic bets (Exactas and Daily Double from 20.68% to 22.68; Tris, Supers, Pick 3s and Pick 4s from 20.68% to 23.68%).

As mentioned in the article, New Jersey is also considering legislation to allow betting exchanges.

It's pretty rare to see a Grade 1 horse runing back on two weeks rest, especially here in the U.S., but champion Goldikova (IRE) will do just that when she runs in the Group 1 Jacque le Marois at Deauville on Sunday. Goldikova won the Group 1 Prix Rothschild at Deauville on August 1st.
