In the 5th race at Fair Ground today is a filly named Stone Legacy, trained by D. Wayne Lukas and ridden by Robby Albarado. She's hasn't run a bad race in her last ten starts but she also has only run a winning race once. Her class and her speed seem to tower over this field, but despite all that I just can't get behind this filly. Stone Legacy looks like a money burner – a horse that keeps coming close while putting up solid speed figures thereby enticing the betting public to throw cash at her again and again. And even though this is a fairly soft spot (N1X Allowance), I just can't behind a horse that is going to be even money or less at post-time and has only won once in her last fourteen. She's probably the most likely winner but I won't touch her at those odds.
If I'm going for an upset I want to get paid. I like both the 3 – Arrested Silver and the 6 – Toccetup; looks like the 6 will be higher on the board but we'll wait and see.
