Quality Road, if he puts in just 80% of what he did at Gulfstream in the Donn, is going to be awfully tough to beat. The pace of the race will likely be quick but it will likely take a big performance by one of the other contenders to deny him the top prize.
Perhaps the best shot at an upset in this race comes from the Allen Jerkens trained Le grand Cru. This five year old son of Dynaformer rolls into the Met Mile off a big performance in the Grade 3 Westchester and sports a solid 4-3-0-0 lifetime mark at Belmont Park.
