Haynesfield, trained by Steve Asmussen and ridden by Ramon Dominguez, moved alongside Regal Ransom coming off the far turn and pulled away from the field and won by three lengths to second place Convocation in today's 124th running of the Grade 2 Suburban Handicap.
I Want Revenge had a chance at the top of the lane but flattened out badly in the stretch. Not a surprise given the 1+ year layoff.
Pictural, Rick Dutrow's rabbit, broke slowly and was never involved in the early pace.
Haynesfield paid $9.90, $4.40, $2.70. (Result Chart, from DRF.com)
Out at Monmouth Park, Chinchon (IRE) powered past the field in the stretch to win the Grade 1 United Nations. The Irish-bred, French raced horse got a great set-up thanks to Get Serious, Acclimation, and Straight Story providing a good deal of pace in the early stages.
Take the Points and Winchester finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Chinchon paid $9.60, 4.80, $3.40. (Result Chart, from DRF.com)
