Court Vision wins the Woodbine Mile

New, 4 comments

Court Vision ran down The Usual Q.T. in a wild finish to win the 14th running of the Grade 1 Woodbine Mile on Sunday afternoon.

You got to tip your hat for a great run by Court Vision - he was clearly the best horse inside the final furlong and Rick Dutrow had him primed coming in off a layoff.  Court Vision was relatively far back when the field entered the stretch, was in a bit tight as Robby Albarado navigated him several paths off the rail in mid-stretch, and then easily went by The Usual Q.T. under a hand ride once he was switched to the outside.  The ride by Robby Albarado was, as usual, excellent.

Court Vision ended up going off at very nice odds of 7/1 and paid $16.60, $7.60, and $5.40 - great value for a horse that started the day at 7/2 on the morning line.

Post time favorite Famous Name had good position in the middle of the pack during the early going but didn't get a run at all coming off the turn and was a well beaten 7th.  According to the commentators, Famous Name was a bit agitated pre-race.

Court Vision will definitely be heading to Churchill Downs for the Breeders' Cup Mile, and it would seem likely that The Usual Q.T. will follow him.
