The posts are drawn, the undercard entries are set (and it's a fantastic Derby day undercard, as usual), the only thing that's left is a lot of hours of handicapping, a bunch of wagers, and day drinking bourbon and watching one of the greatest sporting events in America. Is there anything better than Derby day?

I love the Breeders' Cup due to race after race of big fields and wide-open races, but you can't beat the Derby in terms of horse racing tradition in this country.

With the big day closing in on us, below is a blast from the past to light the Derby fire. Since I posted an interview with Gary Stevens earlier today, here's a replay of the 1988 Kentucky Derby, won by Gary Stevens on Winning Colors, just the 3rd filly to ever win the Kentucky Derby.
