E.P. Taylor Stakes 2012 Results: Siyouma Is Much The Best

Siyouma (IRE) produced a strong kick in the final quarter mile to hold off long shot 2-Pagera (FR) to win the Grade 1 E.P. Taylor Stakes at Woodbine. Pagera held on to finish second while 5-Dream Peace (IRE) finished 3rd to round out an all Euro trifecta.

Siyouma raced just a few lengths off the lead through soft opening fractions, found racing room between horses at the top of the stretch and powered home to win by almost two lengths at the wire. Pagera also raced closed to the lead in the early stages but couldn't keep up with the winner when it came time to roll towards the juge.

Sioyouma is a four-year-old filly by Medicean (GB) out of a Danehill mare (Sichilla (IRE), trained by Francois Doumen, ridden by Gerald Mosse and owned by Robert Jeffcock. Siyouma's victory in the E.P. Tayor is her second consecutive top-level win after scoring in the Group 1 Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket in her last start.
