Thirteen three-year-old colts will enter the gate for Saturday's Grade 2 Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, Arkansas (Post time: 5:48pm Central; TV: TVG and HRTV). Secret Circle, winner of the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Sprint and the first division of the G3-Southwest Stakes, is seeking his fifth career win from six starts, and his first victory in a race longer than a mile. Scatman, runner-up to Secret Circle in his last race, will make his third start of 2012 and is seeking his first win against graded stakes company.
The top money earner in the Rebel field is Sabercat, winner of the G3-Delta Jackpot way back on November 19th, his third straight victory.
Najjaar, winner of an N1X Allowance event at Oaklawn back on March 2nd, steps up to graded stakes company for the first time in six career races. A stone-cold closer by 2006 Belmont Stakes winner Jazil, Najjaar is going to need some help up front in order to run down the leaders in the final furlongs.
Jake Mo returns in the Rebel after finishing second behind Castaway in the second division of the Southwest Stakes, a race that (on paper) appears to be quite a bit weaker than the first division.
Below are the entries and post positions for Saturday's G2-Rebel Stakes. Morning line odds will be added when released. Morning line odds are now up.
