Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner I'll Have Another took a tour of the main track at Belmont Park today in preparation for his attempt to win the Triple Crown on June 9th in the Belmont Stakes.
In other news, Creative Cause, third in the Preakness and fifth in the Derby, will skip the Belmont in order to take some time off before his summer and fall campaign. It's possible that his connections will try him on the turf later on in the year.
One horse that will be running in the Belmont is Union Rags who worked five furlongs at Fair Hill in 1:01 flat this morning at the Fair Hill Training Center. Union Rags has had a rough time at the races in 2012. After putting in a solid effort in the Fountain of Youth, he encountered troubled trips in both the Florida and Kentucky Derby, never threatening the winners in either race. He'll get a jockey change from Julien Leparoux to John Velazquez.
