It's Memorial Day Weekend... already. (I can't believe how fast the winter/spring has gone by!) The three-day holiday means a lot of good racing on tap around the country, culminating with the Grade 1 Met Mile at Belmont Park (post time: 5:47pm Eastern; TV: HRTV, TVG). Two other Grade 1 races will run at Belmont on Monday - the Ogden Phillips and the Acorn - as well as a host of graded stakes action across the country.
Sometimes a small field is a sign of a soft race, especially if it only contains one or two quality colts. Monday's Met Mile only drew a field of six, but the race contains essentially every big name currently running in the dirt mile division. Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile winner Caleb's Posse leads a field that includes To Honor and Serve, Shackleford, Caixa Electronica and Jackson Bend.
