In an effort to change things up a bit, I decided to go with a double header for this week's Friday Night Lights. We'll kick things off with Mountaineer Park at 7:00pm Eastern time for their ten race program, and then roll into Emerald Downs at 9pm Eastern. Both tracks are sporting decent cards that evening; six of the eight races at Mountaineer drew a minimum of eight horses, while Emerald has a couple of ten horse fields in their seven race card.

Mountaineer Park is a one mile oval with a seven furlong turf course to the inside (although, all races on Friday are scheduled for the main track). In addition to the standard wagering menu, Mountaineer offers an Early Daily Double, a Pick 3 (2-3-4), a Pick 6 (5-6-7-8-9-10), a Pick 4 (7-8-9-10), and a Late Daily Double.

Emerald Downs is a one mile dirt oval with no turf racing. (Can you imagine the maintenance on a turf course in Seattle?) In addition to the standard wagering menu, Emerald offers rolling Daily Doubles, rolling Pick 3s, an Early and Late Pick 4, and a $0.50 Pick 5 (3-4-5-6-7).
