Royal Delta and Awesome Maria Set To Square Off In DelCap...At Same Time As CCA Oaks

I realize that his topic has been discussed to death over the past few years, but I refuse to let it go when it repeatedly rears it's ugly head time after time. This Saturday, Delaware Park will feature the G2-Delaware Handicap pitting top fillies Royal Delta and Awesome Maria in what is sure to be one of the more anticipated races for older females on the year. Post time for the DelCap is scheduled for 5:45pm Eastern... the exact same time that the G1-Coaching Club American Oaks at Saratoga is scheduled to run. The exact... same... time.

I realize TVG has their whole "Double Box" creation but, really, do you want to watch both races at the same time? Couldn't we, and by "we" I mean anybody in the industry that is dealing with these issues, make some phone calls and co-ordinate the schedules for the big races, at a minimum?

I'm honestly tired of writing about this issue because A) it can be EASILY avoided and, B) I can't believe we are STILL dealing with these types of scheduling conflicts. As I pointed out a while back, this isn't rocket science.

Anyway, below are the entries and post positions for the DelCap and the CCA Oaks. I'll have more on this weekend's stakes races on Friday afternoon.
