After a horrible race in the G2-Suburban, Endorsement will try to get back on track in the G1-Whitney Invitational Handicap at Saratoga on Saturday, August 4th.

A very even field of nine horses will load into the gate on Saturday, August 4th for the Grade 1 Whitney Invitational Handicap at Saratoga. Post time for the Whitney is 5:45pm Eastern time, and the race can be viewed on TVG, HRTV and MSG+. The Whitney is run at nine furlongs on the main track and carries a purse of $750,000.

Ron the Greek, winner of the G1-Santa Anita Handicap and G1-Stephen Foster Handicap, leads the field as the 3/1 morning line favorite. Joining Ron the Greek in the Whitney are:

Rule: Winner of the G2-Monmouth Cup at a mile in his last start.

Hunters Bay: Winner of three straight races over the synthetic surface at Woodbine, including the G3-Eclipse and G3-Dominion Day in his last two starts.

Caixa Electronica: Stretching out to nine furlongs for the third time in his career after a disappointing 5th place finish in the G3-James Marvin on July 29th.

Endorsement: A horrible 7th in the G2-Suburban after a string of solid races in 2012.

Trickmeister: A speed frontrunner that finished 3rd in the Suburban and 6th in the G1-Donn this year.

Flat Out: Second in the Monmouth Cup behind Rule; he's looking for his first win since the G1-Jockey Club Gold Cup last October at Belmont.

Hymn Book: Winner of the Donn at Gulfstream in February; recently second in the Suburban behind Mucho Macho Man.

Fort Larned: An easy winner of the G3-Cornhusker Handicap at Prairie Meadows after a horrible last place finish in the Stephen Foster two races back. Has also won the G3-Skip Away and was second in the G2-Alysheba.
