Super Bowl Sunday Open Handicapping Thread

Is there a better way to gear up for Super Bowl XLVII than some horse racing action?

USA TODAY Sports

Over the summer we hosted our Friday Night Lights open threads as we handicapped various tracks from all over the country. Long time reader Swale, a Ravens fan, suggested a morning pre-Super Bowl open handicapping thread in order to kick off Super Sunday. That sounds like a good idea for me; let's do some Friday Sunday Night Morning/Early Afternoon Lights!

Originally, I thought we'd focus primarily on the Sunday cards at Gulfstream and the Fair Grounds (since the Super Bowl is in the Big Easy this year), but turns out the Fair Grounds isn't going to run a Sunday card. So we'll toss in the Big A and Tampa, or anything else that morning that you like to play. Santa Anita is running an earlier card than normal on Sunday with a first post of 11:00 am Pacific (2:00 pm Eastern).

So jump on in and talk horses before football. Or we can talk football, beer choices and anything else on the menu.

The entries for each track should be drawn this afternoon and I'll link to the cards for each track below (via DRF.com).

Aqueduct Entries - Sunday, February 3rd
Gulfstream Park Entries - Sunday, February 3rd
Tampa Bay Downs - Sunday, February 3rd
