It's time for the 2013 NCAA Tournament so let's get an ADTSTC bracket league going. I've set up a league over at CBSSports.com that is open for any and all to enter. No money or prizes involved, just bragging rights and the knowledge that if you win you are indeed the smartest person in the world. Or something like that.
The first scoring games are Thursday morning; get your entry signed up and your picks in. One bracket per user.
League Name: ADTSTC March Madness
League Home Link: CBS Sports/ADTSTC
Password: horseracing
Scoring:
Opening Round/Play-in Games: No Points
Second Round: 1 Point per correct pick + seed
Third Round: 2 Points + seed
Sweet 16: 4 Points + seed
Elite 8: 8 Points + seed
Final Four: 16 Points + seed
Championship: 32 Points + seed
Tiebreaker: Championship game total score
The seed of the winning team is added to the correct pick total in each round as a bonus. Ex. If the 12 seed wins in the second round (which is actually the old "First Round", until the play-in games were added), then 13 total points are awarded for that pick. If you pick a five seed to win a Sweet 16 game, then nine total points are awarded.
This scoring system balances the need to pick the Final Four and Champion with a good bonus for being able to predict some upsets.
