As we move into the middle of the month of April, we are unbelievably at the end of the major prep races for the 2013 Kentucky Derby. Time flies when you're having fun, or something like that. Both of today's big races, the Blue Grass Stakes and the Arkansas Derby, present us with a solid field of contenders, most of which are still looking for that "big" win that will stamp them as a legitimate contender for this year's Derby.
The Arkansas Derby will be televised on NBC SportsNetwork, while the Blue Grass will be shown on NBC. We'll see whether or not they cover any of the graded stakes races on the undercards but, given the couple hours of coverage, I would hope the other races won't be ignored.
