Edgewood Results: Kitten's Dumplings Dominates

Kitten's Dumplings was much to best in the Edgewood, winning by open lengths.

Jamie Squire

Kitten's Dumplings made a strong move down the middle of the Churchill Downs turf course to win the Edgewood by open lengths on the Kentucky Oaks under card. Long shot Praia closed well to finish second, while Broken Spell rounded out the trifecta.

How good was Kitten's Dumplings late kick? Her final two internal splits were 23.36 and 5.94. That's good.

Wave Theory stumbled badly at the start and threw jockey Julien Leparoux. Horse and rider were both fine following the race.

Kitten's Dumplings is a three-year-old filly by Kitten's Joy out of a Grand Slam mare (Granny Fanny), trained by Michael Maker, ridden by Joel Rosario, and owned by (who else) Ken & Sarah Ramsey.
