Peter Pan Stakes: Entries, Post Positions & Odds

New, 11 comments

With the Kentucky Derby close up in the rear-view mirror, it's a light weekend for graded stakes activity around the country this weekend with the exception of the Grade 2 Peter Pan at Belmont Park on Saturday.

Al Bello

Declan's Warrior, winner of the Bay Shore Stakes at Aqueduct on April 6th, leads a field of 11 three-year-colts at Belmont Park for the Grade 2 Peter Pan (Post Time: 5:17 pm Eastern: TV: TVG & HRTV). The Nick Zito trainee hasn't raced since his Bay Shore victory and will be stretching out past a mile for the first time in his career after four races at sprint distances.

Among the colts joining Declan's Warrior in the Peter Pan are:

My Name Is Michael - Seventh in the Blue Grass after finishing eighth as the favorite in the Sprial Stakes at Turfway back on March 23. He was third in the Sam F. Davis before his back-to-back poor efforts on Polytrack.

Saint Vigeur - Winner of an optional claiming/allowance company event at the Big A back on April 11th. By Smart Strike out of a Giant's Causeway mare, this Chad Brown trainee should continue to show ability when running a distance of ground.

Battier - A nice looking colt that ran well in a couple of minor stakes at Aqueduct and Laurel this winter and will be running for Todd Pletcher for the first time.

Incognito - A Darly colt coming into this race off a nice score at Aqueduct.

Fear the Kitten - The Alternate Entry for last week's Kentucky Derby that was on the outside looking in after the scratch of Black Onyx came down after the 9am Friday deadline.

Abraham - Fourth in the Illinois Derby and third in the Sunland Derby.

Narvaez - Seventh in the Illinois Derby and fourth in the Florida Derby.

Infinite Magic - owned by Team Valor and recently brought over to the U.S. from England, makes his second start in the country after closing well to win his North American debut over the Keeneland Polytrack on April 14th. The Peter Pan wil lbe his first attempt at racing on a dirt durface after running exclusively on synthetics in England.

Below are the entries and post positions for Saturday's Peter Pan Stakes. Morning line odds will be added later.
